Steak & Kidney Pie: London
I know how frustrating it can be to take time out of a busy schedule to venture over to a website only to discover that it hasn't been updated for days. When I began writing eddybles almost a year ago, I vowed to never be the person who neglected her little corner of cyberspace and up until my lovely adventure in a tiny town in England with a rather distinguished restaurant tucked into a bend of its High Street, I kept my promise.
After returning home from the restaurant each night to a room that even a garden gnome would have found snug, I kept my commitment and typed away in my itty-bitty powder blue wicker chair at a table no bigger than a steak and kidney pie, and that might be stretching it a bit. Eventually however, the long hours at work got the better of me and the only thing I thought about, besides my waning relationship with brunoise and how I never knew the bags under my eyes could achieve that particular shade of indigo, was sleeping. The guilt of not posting on a regular basis found its way into my dreams where I was pursued by caps lock keys and space bars down the twisty road leading from my bed and breakfast to the restaurant. But I welcomed dreams, even in the form of feverish nightmares, as it meant that my head was on a pillow.
The adventure is nearly at an end now and this, along with a few deep, rejuvenating naps, has inspired me to return to my regular posting duties. As of this very second, the Today In Food section of eddybles featuring a daily dose of food news, trivia, quotes and history is up and running again. The weekly quiz feature will begin again tomorrow and within the next few hours, regular postings of recipes, food history, culinary adventures, reviews and every other little thing relating to the good life of food and drink will resume.
I thank you for your patience, I sincerely apologize for this serious lapse here at eddybles and I look forward to ending the year on a high note of regular postings and a lighter shade of blue beneath my eyes.
